I have something very special to share with you today. Something we really don't get to see on television any longer. I'm referring to those special Disney broadcasts that allowed us to reminisce on the good ol' days. I'd like to share something that is sure to bring you joy and will have you wrapped up in a blanket of nostalgia. It's called The Wonderful World of Disney - 40 Years of Television Magic and it's a television special that aired on ABC on December 10, 1994. So if you're ready, let's go back to those simply days when television had only three channels, the picture was black and white, and Sunday night meant Disney...
Broadcast on December 10, 1994 on the ABC television network, this two-hour retrospective, introduced by Michael Eisner and hosted by Kirstie Alley, featured a behind-the-scenes look at the Disney Studios, Disneyland, and Disney World, with interviews and commentary by a multitude of current and former Disney stars. Directed by Frank Martin, it featured a ton of celebrity interviews and reminiscences by such people as Debbie Allen, Bobby Burgess, Margaret Cho, Roy Disney, George Foreman, Hugh Hefner, Ward Kimball, James MacArthur, Hayley Mills, Fess Parker, Jim Varney, Tom Hanks, and many more...
Some of you may even recall seeing this two hour special from 1994 on ABC when it originally aired. The show is jammed packed with old Walt scenes, as well as interviews with big names in Disney and Hollywood history as they discuss the magic of Walt's old Wonderful World of Disney programs and the legacy he left the world.
Director Frank Martin really hit a home run with Disney lovers by bringing this adorable Disney special to the small screen. And so, instead of gushing over the amazement of the two hour special you're about to see, let's get right into it. Disney Avenue is proud to present you with the incredible, 1994 ABC special The Wonderful World of Disney - 40 Years of Television Magic...Enjoy!
